FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center (at Pitt-Johnstown Campus)
450 Schoolhouse Road / Johnstown, PA
Saturday, November 2 @2:00 PM
Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof‘s universal theme of tradition cuts across race, class, nationality, and religion barriers, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy, and sadness.
Hope Springs Eternal: The Holocaust Project is a collaboration between Vision Together 2025, The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance, and the Arts Coalition of the Alleghenies to bring a unique educational opportunity to the region. Local and regional arts and community organizations will each contribute in a significant way to this project. The aim is to help people learn about a tragic time in world history and to recognize and commemorate the resilience of humanity.
