Holiday High School Shoot-Out

1ST SUMMIT ARENA @ Cambria County War Memorial is excited to bring basketball back to the arena! The last time basketball players took at the court in the arena was in 2014, so we are happy to be putting the hoops up again to host our first annual Holiday High School Shoot-Out on December 27th & 28th.

Eight local boys’ teams from the following schools will compete in this inaugural year: Bishop McCort, Conemaugh Township, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale, Forest Hills, Greater Johnstown, Penn Cambria and Westmont Hilltop.  Each game does count toward the teams’ season record and what makes these match-ups even more exciting is that these are interleague games.  We have teams from 2 different conferences that don’t typically complete against each other, so these are games you wouldn’t see during a regular season.  The schedule of games is as follows:

Thursday, December 27, 2018
Time Team 1 (visitor) Team 2 (home)
12 PM Conemaugh Township vs. Penn Cambria
2 PM Conemaugh Valley vs. Forest Hills
6 PM Westmont Hilltop vs. Ferndale
8 PM Johnstown vs. Bishop McCort
Friday, December 28, 2018
Time Team 1 (visitor) Team 2 (home)
12 PM Ferndale vs. Forest Hills
2 PM Conemaugh Valley vs. Penn Cambria
6 PM Conemaugh Township vs. Johnstown
8 PM Bishop McCort vs. Westmont Hilltop

There are several different ticketing options.  Tickets for individual sessions are $5 for children and $10 for adults. Tickets for a whole day are $8 for children and $18 for adults. Finally, tickets for an all game pass is $12 for children and $30 for adults.  Tickets are currently on sale and all seats are reserved.

The arena is also looking for local business and/or individuals to sponsor this community event.  It’s a great opportunity to support our local schools.  There are different opportunities available, please call Shannon Glover at 814-536-5156 x4555 for that information.
